UPDATE: Grand Forks Incident on North Fourth Street Appears to Be Assault, Not Attempted Kidnapping

Grand Forks, ND (trfnews.i234.me) — We have a new update on the incident initially reported as a possible attempted kidnapping in the 700 block of North Fourth Street around 8:00 p.m. Monday evening.

TRF News spoke with Sergeant Drees of the Grand Forks Police Department at 5:30 a.m. Tuesday, who clarified that the situation now appears to be more of an assault than an attempted kidnapping.

  • The female victim believed to be around 18 years old, is reported to be okay.

  • The suspect also believed to be 18, is still unidentified, and police say the victim does not know him.

  • Police say there are inconsistencies in the initial statements, and the investigation is still ongoing to clarify the full circumstances.

As of now, no children were involved, and there is no immediate danger to the public. More updates will be shared as authorities release further details.

I’m Chris Harper reporting for TRF News.
