Update: Fire rips through car, causes damage to Grand Forks motel

GRAND FORKS, ND (trfnews.i234.me) We have an update from the Grand Forks Fire Department regarding a Tuesday fire that destroyed a vehicle and damage a motel.
smoking materials are being named as the cause of a fire that destroyed a vehicle and damaged the Knights Inn Motel off Gateway Drive on late Tuesday afternoon this update now from the Grand Forks fire department 5 35 p.m Tuesday they were dispatched to a vehicle fire that was close to a building Grand Forks Police Officer arrived on scene and confirmed that the nearby Hotel was also on fire this is the Knights Inn on 47th Street North 47th when fire Crews arrived on scene they encountered a fully engulfed vehicle in the vinyl siding of the building was also involved fire Crews extinguished the fire rising up the side of the building and then the car fire damaged the bill fire damage to the building was limited to the exterior materials and the hotel was able to resume operation the vehicle and all of its contents were a total loss uh Grand Forks fire responded with four engines one truck one command vehicle and 14 person well the driver of the vehicle sustained minor injuries paramedics assessed his injuries but did not he did not get transported there were no injuries to any fire service Personnel fire department assisted by Grand Forks Police and Altru ambulance the cause of the fire was accidental due to smoking materials Grand Forks fire department would like to remind the public to take care and properly extinguish and dispose of smoking materials I’m Neil Berg reporting for itrfnews.i234.me
