GRAND FORKS, ND (trfnews.i234.me) — Two men are behind bars following a late-night traffic stop in Grand Forks on November 5th, just before 9:30 p.m.

According to court documents, officers pulled over a vehicle after noticing two passengers not wearing seatbelts. During the stop, officers identified the passengers as Jamison Aure and Austin Bercier. Officers noted both appeared nervous, avoided eye contact, and held their bags tightly on their laps.

Police say a strong odor was coming from the vehicle, and a marijuana grinder and suspected drugs were visible in plain sight. A search of the vehicle revealed a black and white bag containing methamphetamine, numerous small designer baggies used for packaging narcotics, a digital scale with white residue, a clear plastic bag with over 110 grams of methamphetamine, 4.1 grams of fentanyl, and a bag containing over 33 grams of marijuana, along with $144 in cash.

Documents indicate Bercier admitted that the black and white bag was his and took ownership of all other items found in the vehicle. He also told officers he used the scale to weigh fentanyl for personal use.

Austin Bercier was arrested and faces multiple felony charges, including possession with intent to manufacture or deliver methamphetamine, fentanyl, and marijuana. Jamison Aure was arrested on an active warrant.

Authorities continue to investigate the case as part of ongoing drug enforcement efforts in the Grand Forks area. For background on North Dakota drug enforcement efforts, visit North Dakota Attorney General’s Office.
