Two Bemidji Residents Face Major Drug Trafficking Charges

BEMIDJI, MN (trfnews.i234.me) – Two residents of Bemidji, Minnesota, Michael Jason Throne and Julia Marie Jones, are facing significant drug trafficking charges. According to court documents, Throne was under investigation in June for allegedly transporting large quantities of methamphetamine from Minneapolis to Beltrami County.

On June 10, Throne was tracked making a trip to Minneapolis. Upon returning to Bemidji, he was pulled over but fled the scene, driving with a suspended license. His passenger, Jones, allegedly threw drugs out the window during the brief pursuit, which ended when police performed a PIT maneuver to stop their vehicle.

Authorities seized more than 300 grams of suspected methamphetamine from the car and the roadside. Additionally, Throne was found with $4,997 in cash. Throne is now charged with first-degree sale of drugs exceeding 17 grams within 90 days and fleeing from police. Jones is charged with aiding and abetting first-degree drug sale exceeding 17 grams within 90 days. Both charges carry a maximum sentence of 30 years in prison.
