GRAND FORKS, ND (trfnews.i234.me) A Turning Point USA event at the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks on this Thursday evening.
a Turning Point USA event at the Chester Fritz Auditorium in Grand Forks, North Dakota on this Thursday evening. The organization started by Charlie Kirk who was shot and killed uh last month. Uh the organization says its mission is to identify, educate, and train uh students to promote the principles of freedom, free markets, and limited governments. It has uh chapters at over 800 campuses. Um it opposes political movements such as uh Black Lives Matter and supports the use of fossil fuels and supports the NRA. In short, it is a controversial uh organization to many across the United States. A very heavy police presence here tonight. You can see the uh armored vehicle from the Grand Forks Police Department and they’ve said uh they’ll have a very large police presence at the event. Uh here’s a couple of uh students who were attending this event tonight. >> So, I’m Autumn and um I’m grateful to be here uh to come see Glenn Beck. Um it is absolutely devastating what happened with Charlie Kirk. I believe that he was a martyr for his faith and he is truly someone that we can aspire to be like um but mostly um he guided us towards Jesus Christ and um to emulate him and um I know that that was his main goal and he uh hit it out of the park. >> Hi, I am Na Arnot. I’m here because of I think it’s important to show up after Charlie Kirk died. Yeah, this this is our I’m her sister. Um this is our second event. Uh we went to the one in Fargo for his memorial. And we think it’s important that we show up and we present what we think freedom should be, which is why we’re standing waiting patiently in line till 5:00 when we can hopefully go in. Um we think Charlie Kirk’s message was something that we all need to look for in life. And the way to get your opinions across is not to use force or violence. It is to talk openly and have discussions. And I think that’s what the left and the right both need to do right now. >> Well, and on top of that, there’s a lot of controversy among Christians, especially on whether or not we should get involved in politics because we have faith. But Charlie Kirk was, I think, under the right notion, which is it’s because we’re Christians that we need to get into politics. Our morals are led by our faith. And if we can’t walk with our morals in politics, then we’re not walking in faith at all. the opinions of students attending the Turning Point USA event here at the Chester Fritz Auditorium in Grand Forks on this Thursday night.
