POLK COUNTY, MN (trfnews.i234.me) – Dale William Sorenson, 60, of Crookston, faces multiple serious charges as he prepares for his July trial. Sorenson is accused of second-degree criminal sexual contact and making violent threats—both felonies—as well as fifth-degree assault, a gross misdemeanor.

The incident reportedly occurred in September when police responded to a sexual assault complaint. The victim alleged she was at a friend’s house when Sorenson, arriving later, made unwelcome advances. After she retired to sleep on a recliner, Sorenson initiated unwanted physical contact, threatened her husband’s life, and partly disrobed her. She sustained injuries from a fall during the ensuing struggle.

At a pre-trial hearing on June 4, a jury trial was scheduled for the week of July 22. Sorenson sought a furlough to manage personal affairs related to alleged Social Security fraud and safeguard personal belongings, but the court denied this request. A further pre-trial hearing is slated for July 25 to address any pending issues.
