Grand Forks County (trfnews.i234.me) — Breaking news out of Grand Forks County this Tuesday morning—a train derailment has been reported near Thompson, ND, just south of Grand Forks.
Early reports indicate that the derailment occurred approximately a quarter-mile north of Thompson. According to on-scene footage, at least six train cars were involved, with one completely off the tracks. Emergency crews responded quickly and are already working to reopen the railway.
Fortunately, there are no reports of hazardous materials being involved in the incident. While authorities are still assessing the cause, this unexpected derailment has raised questions about railway safety in the area.
