DETROIT LAKES, Minn. (trfnews.i234.me) – The Minnesota State Patrol has identified two victims in a fatal three-vehicle crash that occurred Tuesday afternoon on Highway 59 near Detroit Lakes. Cole Carlson, 33, of Detroit Lakes, and his passenger, 60-year-old Stacey Nelson of Hawley, tragically lost their lives in the collision. Both victims were not wearing seatbelts.
The accident involved a mini-van driven by 84-year-old Marvin St. Germain of Fosston, along with his passenger, 82-year-old Marie St. Germain. Both were taken to Essentia Health in Detroit Lakes with non-life-threatening injuries. A third vehicle, a large van driven by 59-year-old Evette Fox of Bagley, was involved, but Fox was not injured.
Authorities are continuing to investigate the cause of the crash.
