Wadena County – Rockwood Township (trfnews.i234.me) – A tragic end to a missing person case out of Wadena, Minnesota, as the body of a 30-year-old man was found 240 feet above ground on a tower in Rockwood Township.
According to the Wadena County Sheriff’s Office, on July 16, authorities received a report of a vehicle that matched the description tied to the missing person investigation of Samuel Waln, who was last seen driving eastbound on Highway 10 in Wadena on July 12.
Responding officers searched the Section 28 area of Rockwood Township and made a shocking discovery — Waln’s deceased body atop a tower, 240 feet above ground.
Because of the extreme height, a search and rescue team was called in to recover the body. Waln has since been transported to the Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office for official identification and autopsy.
The Wadena County Sheriff’s Office reports that this appears to be an isolated incident, and no foul play is suspected. Authorities also noted there is no danger to the public.
Further information will be released pending autopsy results and investigative findings.
