COTTONWOOD COUNTY, MN (trfnews.i234.me) – In a heartbreaking turn of events, authorities have recovered the body of a 15-year-old who was presumed to have drowned in a Cottonwood County lake.
The teenager, whose name has not been released, was found submerged in about four and a half feet of water just before 11:30 Wednesday morning. The discovery brings a somber conclusion to the search efforts that began earlier in the week.
According to the sheriff’s office, the teen was last seen on Monday attempting to retrieve an oar on Eagle Lake in Carson Township. He was fishing with a family member at the time of the incident. Eagle Lake, located just west of Mountain Lake in Cottonwood County, became the focal point of a widespread search operation involving multiple agencies.
As the community grapples with this tragic loss, authorities are reminding residents to prioritize safety while enjoying water activities, especially as warmer weather approaches.
