Tragic Collision Claims Life of Driver, Leaves Teen Critically Injured

MORA, MN (trfnews.i234.me) – In a devastating incident, a collision occurred around 8:00 a.m. Thursday, just north of Mora in Kanabec County, according to the Minnesota State Patrol. The collision involved a vehicle driven by 35-year-old Candace Berglund of Ogilvie and a semi-truck traveling south on Highway 65.

Here’s what happened:

  • Berglund’s vehicle, traveling east on Highway 27 at Highway 65, made contact with the southbound semi.
  • Regrettably, Candace Berglund lost her life in the crash, marking a tragic end to the morning commute.
  • Her passenger, 16-year-old Robert Berglund, also of Ogilvie, suffered life-threatening injuries and was rushed to Children’s Hospital for urgent medical care.

The occupants of the semi:

  • Craig Stern, 49, of Cedar, and Daniel Dami, 39, of St. Francis, both sustained injuries but were fortunate to have non-life-threatening conditions. They were promptly transported to the hospital for medical attention.
