Tragic Accident: Two Student-Athletes Struck by Car in Forest Lake

FOREST LAKE, MN ( – In a devastating incident that unfolded on Tuesday afternoon in the quiet suburbs of northern Twin Cities, two student-athletes from Forest Lake Area High School found themselves in critical condition after being struck by a car.

According to reports from the Minnesota State Patrol, the harrowing event occurred as a group of track runners attempted to navigate the crosswalk at the intersection of Highway 61 and 202nd Street North in Forest Lake. It was approximately 3:30 p.m. when tragedy struck, with a Cadillac Deville barreling down the highway, colliding with two unsuspecting students.

The impact was severe, leaving both young athletes with serious injuries necessitating immediate medical attention. Without hesitation, emergency responders rushed to the scene, orchestrating a swift airlift to transport the injured students to the hospital for urgent treatment.
