Ramsey County, MN (trfnews.i234.me) – A heartbreaking incident unfolded Thursday afternoon near White Bear Lake, where a 72-year-old woman was struck and killed by an SUV while crossing at a marked crosswalk.

According to Ramsey County deputies, the 46-year-old male driver fled the scene immediately after the collision. Witnesses confirmed that the victim was legally crossing the street when she was hit. The driver later turned himself in at the White Bear Police Department.

A preliminary breath test revealed a blood alcohol content (BAC) of 0.14well above the legal limit of 0.08. Authorities say charges are expected, though the victim’s identity has not yet been released.
