Traffic Stop Turns Violent: Suspect Airlifted After Knife Injury in Morrison County

Morrison County (trfnews.i234.me) – The Morrison County Sheriff’s Office reported a violent incident during a traffic stop on May 25, 2024, at approximately 10:30 PM. A Morrison County Deputy initiated the stop on Highway 25, just south of Pierz in Pierz Township, suspecting the driver of speeding and Driving Under the Influence (DUI).

After conducting field sobriety tests, the Deputy informed the suspect of his arrest for DUI. A struggle ensued, resulting in the suspect sustaining serious injuries from a knife. The suspect was airlifted to a local hospital for treatment.

The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA) has been requested to investigate the use of force. Video footage of the incident has been turned over to the BCA, and all further inquiries will be directed to them.

Assisting agencies at the scene included the BCA, Little Falls Police Department, Minnesota State Patrol, Pierz First Response Team, Mayo Ambulance, and Life Link III.
