Thief River Falls, MN (trfnews.i234.me) – On June 29, the sheriff’s office conducted a traffic stop on Highway 1 shortly after the vehicle exited the eastern city limits of Thief River Falls. Kristopher Jakob Kvick, 32, of Goodridge, has been charged with third-degree DWI – one aggravating factor. He was arrested at the scene.

Upon approaching the vehicle, the deputy reported that Kvick admitted he was drunk. When asked how much he had consumed, Kvick allegedly stated he had three to four beers and rated himself as a 4 on a scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being the most drunk. He exhibited signs of impairment and failed field sobriety tests.

An empty, open bottle of Busch Light was found in the vehicle. A preliminary breath test indicated a blood alcohol content of 0.165. A subsequent DMT breath test conducted at least an hour later showed a result of 0.13. The complaint also noted that Kvick had a prior DWI conviction in 2015.
