Grand Forks (trfnews.i234.me) — A serious three-vehicle crash rocked Grand Forks Thursday evening around 6:36 p.m. at the intersection of South Washington Street and 13th Avenue South.
According to Sergeant Ivertowski with the Grand Forks Police Department, the preliminary investigation indicates that a black Nissan Rogue, driven by a 39-year-old driver, was heading north on South Washington when a white Ford Explorer, driven by a 24-year-old driver, attempted to turn east from the southbound lanes. The two vehicles collided violently at the intersection.
The force of the crash caused the Ford Explorer to spin out and smash into a third vehicle—a Chevy Cruz—driven by a 29-year-old driver, who was in the left-turn lane to go south onto South Washington.
The driver was cited at the scene for failure to yield. All three vehicles sustained significant damage and had to be towed. Two individuals reported injuries but declined ambulance transport to Altru Hospital.
Grand Forks Police thanked the public for their patience as traffic was diverted for roughly an hour while officers conducted their on-scene investigation.
