Rural intersections, like the one at Hwy 71 and 60th Ave NE, often present increased risks due to higher travel speeds, limited visibility, and the absence of traffic signals. According to the Minnesota Department of Public Safety, a significant number of crashes in rural counties involve intersection-related factors. Drivers are advised to exercise heightened caution when navigating such intersections, especially under adverse weather conditions.
