Earlier Sunday afternoon, a medical call reported a woman lying in a snowbank near a laundromat. The caller said the woman had blood on her hands.
Police Say Woman Was OK
In an update provided Sunday, Thief River Falls Police Chief Marissa Adam said a deputy made contact with the person. Adam said the woman was fine.
Police said there were no issues found at the scene. Adam said there was no criminal activity tied to the report.
The department did not release the woman’s name. No further details were provided about what led to the call.
Call Marked as a Welfare Check
Police described the response as a welfare check. Those types of calls are used to make sure someone is safe. They can involve medical concerns, exposure, or other issues.
In this case, police said the woman did not need help. The situation was resolved on scene, according to the update.
