Thief River Falls (trfnews.i234.me) — Nicole Ann Fineday is facing a gross misdemeanor charge in Pennington County District Court.
The charge follows a traffic stop in Thief River Falls on April 3, 2026. Court records list the charge as failure to provide insurance.
According to the complaint, Fineday was driving a vehicle on Highway 59. Law enforcement reported that the vehicle crossed the center line several times.
The vehicle was stopped near Kendall Avenue South and Greenwood Street East. The complaint states Fineday’s Minnesota driving status was revoked.
Court Complaint Details
Authorities said Fineday provided an expired insurance document. She also allegedly said the vehicle was not actively insured.
The complaint says the vehicle belonged to her boyfriend. It also states Fineday had an active misdemeanor warrant.
Nicole Ann FinedayThe warrant was confirmed, according to the complaint. However, the issuing agency declined transport.
Investigators also cited prior insurance-related convictions. The complaint lists convictions from May 2021 and August 2022.
Because of those prior convictions, the new charge is filed as a gross misdemeanor.
Possible Penalty
Under the complaint, the charge carries a possible penalty of 364 days in jail. It also carries a possible $3,000 fine.
The case is filed in Pennington County District Court. The court file number is 57-CR-26-275.
