Thief River Falls (trfnews.i234.me) A Thief River Falls woman is facing a third-degree DWI charge after a traffic stop early March 24 near Highway 1 and Oak Avenue North.
Traffic Stop Leads to Arrest
According to the complaint, the stop happened at about 12:08 a.m. Alicia Noel Wikert, 39, was later arrested and charged with third-degree DWI for allegedly having a blood alcohol level of 0.16 or more.
The complaint says a deputy saw two open Busch Light cans in the center console after stopping the vehicle. Wikert allegedly admitted she had been drinking.
She then took field sobriety tests and allegedly failed them. A preliminary breath test and a DMT test both showed a reported blood alcohol content of 0.19.

Open Containers Found
The complaint also says multiple empty beer cans were found inside the vehicle. Some were reportedly under the front seats. Others were found in the back seat.
A charge is only an accusation. Wikert is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court. Readers can learn more about Minnesota DWI laws through the Minnesota Department of Public Safety and court records through the Minnesota Judicial Branch.
