Pennington County, MN (trfnews.i234.me)—On Friday, December 13, 2024, at approximately 6:45 p.m., law enforcement in Thief River Falls responded to a hit-and-run incident involving a 2004 Buick Rainier and a parked 2013 Ford on Arnold Avenue South. The driver of the Buick, identified as 79-year-old Dianne Matson, was reported to have left the scene after colliding with the Ford.
Subsequent Events
Shortly thereafter, at around 6:57 p.m., deputies from the Pennington County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a report of a vehicle in a ditch near Highway 59 Northeast. Upon arrival, authorities found that the same 2004 Buick Rainier had departed the roadway, traversed a field, and became immobilized in a ditch.
Legal Actions
Following the investigation, Matson was cited for the initial collision on Arnold Avenue South and arrested on charges of Fourth-Degree Driving While Impaired (DWI). She was subsequently transported to the Pennington County Jail for processing.
