Thief River Falls to Build ARGO Vehicles at Arctic Cat

THIEF RIVER FALLS, MN (trfnews.i234.me) – Arctic Cat has announced a major manufacturing change involving its Thief River Falls facility.

The company will begin producing and assembling ARGO Xtreme Terrain Vehicles for the United States market later in 2026.

The announcement came Thursday, October 15, as Arctic Cat confirmed ARGO XTV will officially join its family of brands.

The move brings new vehicle production to Thief River Falls while expanding Arctic Cat’s lineup of off-road products.

ARGO Manufacturing Coming to Thief River Falls

Under the new arrangement, all ARGO models intended for the United States market will be manufactured at Arctic Cat’s Minnesota facility.

ARGO specializes in amphibious vehicles designed to travel across rough terrain, mud, water, and other challenging environments.

These vehicles serve customers in outdoor recreation, agriculture, commercial work, and other demanding applications.

The production change is designed to improve vehicle availability and strengthen support for American dealers and customers.

Arctic Cat has not announced specific hiring numbers or additional production positions at the Thief River Falls plant.

Brad Darling Leads Both Companies

The announcement follows Arctic Cat’s acquisition by an investor group led by Brad Darling on April 24, 2025.

Darling serves as president and chief executive officer of both Arctic Cat and ARGO.

Since the acquisition, both companies have worked together to develop a long-term business strategy.

Their goal is to improve manufacturing, strengthen dealer support, and expand into additional markets.

Darling welcomed ARGO’s amphibious vehicles as a strong addition to Arctic Cat’s existing lineup.

That lineup includes snowmobiles, all-terrain vehicles, and side-by-side machines.

The companies believe their combined operations will provide more options for customers seeking vehicles for work and outdoor recreation.

Canadian Production Will Continue

ARGO will continue manufacturing vehicles at its Canadian facility for Canadian and international markets.

The company’s unmanned ground vehicles will also remain in Canadian production.

According to the announcement, demand for these specialized machines has increased during the past year.

ARGO expects that growth to support additional hiring and investment in its Canadian operations.

Meanwhile, ARGO service parts will move to Arctic Cat’s North American distribution center in Bucyrus, Ohio.

The change is intended to improve parts availability and provide faster support for dealers and customers.

What the Announcement Means for Thief River Falls

The manufacturing change marks another development for Arctic Cat’s longtime home in northwestern Minnesota.

Bringing ARGO vehicle production to the local facility adds a new product line to its manufacturing operations.

The companies are also coordinating dealer communications, service support, and distribution across their networks.

The full 2027 ARGO lineup includes new models, engine options, and updated features.

Customers can explore these vehicles through the official Arctic Cat website.

Additional information about the amphibious vehicle manufacturer is available through ARGO’s official website.

The announcement places Thief River Falls at the center of Arctic Cat’s expanded U.S. manufacturing plans.

The company has not announced an exact starting date for the new production operations.
