Pennington County (trfnews.i234.me) — Marilyn Ann Hudson died in the early hours of Jan. 20, 2026.

Her family shared the announcement this week.

Early life and education

Hudson was born Marilyn Ann Eastman on Dec. 22, 1930, in Willmar, Minnesota.

She was the daughter of Morris and Frances (Renstrom) Eastman.

She grew up in Blomkest, Minnesota, in Kandiyohi County.

She graduated from Willmar High School in 1948.

Hudson later studied at Bethel College in St. Paul.

She earned a teaching certificate in 1951 at St. Cloud State Teachers College.

Marriage, ministry, and work

She married Garland Hudson on June 10, 1953, her family said.

The couple began raising a family soon after.

They also served in church work over the years.

Her family said she supported each new pastor role.

Relatives said she often helped people who needed support.

They said she shared meals and short notes of hope.

They described her as kind and steady in faith.

The family also shared a Bible passage, Proverbs 31:25-29.

Survivors

Hudson is survived by her husband, Garland Hudson.

She is also survived by three sons and their families.

She is survived by two grandchildren, Erika Hudson and Andrew Hudson.

Andrew Hudson is married to Tirzah Hudson.

She is also survived by three great-grandchildren.

Hudson is survived by two sisters, Darlene Reimnitz and Janet Nyholm.

Her family said she also leaves many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Those who died before her

Her family said Hudson was preceded in death by her parents.

They named Francis and Morris Eastman.

She was also preceded in death by two siblings.

They were Marvis Anderstrom and Arnold “Arne” Eastman.

Her daughter-in-law, Pamela Hudson, also died before her.

Care and service plans

The family thanked staff at Thief River Care Center for care over three years.

The facility is also known as Pennington Health Services.
