Thief River Falls Man Faces Felony DANCO Charge

THIEF RIVER FALLS (trfnews.i234.me) — A 23-year-old man faces a felony charge after an alleged court-order violation involving his daughter.

Keilen P. Beauchamp has been charged in Pennington County District Court.

The charge alleges a felony Domestic Abuse No Contact Order violation with two qualifying prior offenses.

Police arrested Beauchamp after investigating a report received Tuesday, July 28.

Police Receive Report of Possible Violation

According to the criminal complaint, a man reported seeing Beauchamp at an apartment building on LaBree Avenue North.

The man said Beauchamp was with a woman and his daughter.

The complaint states that a Domestic Abuse No Contact Order barred Beauchamp from contacting the girl.

The order was tied to a Wilkin County case.

Court documents cited in the complaint say Beauchamp previously had two terroristic-threats convictions in that case.

His daughter was listed as a victim.

Police went to the apartment building after receiving the report.

A woman there allegedly said Beauchamp had been present earlier.

She also said the girl was not inside at that time.

The woman later left with the child.

Police knocked on the apartment door, but nobody answered.

The reporting man later told police that Beauchamp had contacted him.

Beauchamp allegedly said officers were at the building.

The complaint says Beauchamp asked the man to tell police he was not there.

Police also checked another residence connected to Beauchamp.

Nobody answered the door there.

Officers later returned to the apartment building.

The woman came back without the child.

According to the complaint, police asked if Beauchamp had been inside with her and the girl.

The woman allegedly nodded yes.

Police also asked about reports of guns inside the apartment.

The woman said the items were fake guns that looked real.

She told police the girl had been taken elsewhere.

She also said she was scared, according to the complaint.

When asked if she feared Beauchamp, she said no.

She also said the child was usually fine around him.

The woman said Beauchamp rarely saw his daughter because of the court order.

Police arrested Beauchamp after the woman entered the apartment and asked him to come outside.

The charge remains an allegation.

Beauchamp is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
