THIEF RIVER FALLS, MN (trfnews.i234.me) – Cody M. Meekma of Thief River Falls, Minnesota, is facing serious criminal charges following an alleged violent altercation with a family member and a responding deputy. According to reports, Meekma assaulted a male family member by injuring his forehead, holding him on the ground, choking him, and taking away his phone to prevent him from calling the police.
When law enforcement arrived at the scene, Meekma reportedly attempted to resist arrest by trying to punch the deputy and putting him in a headlock. Despite his efforts, he was subdued and handcuffed with the assistance of additional officers.
Meekma now faces several charges, including felony assault by strangulation, gross misdemeanor assault of a peace officer, interference with an emergency call, and misdemeanor domestic assault.
