What the complaint alleges

The complaint says Brummitt’s mother told police she received a call from Brummitt’s pregnant girlfriend. The girlfriend allegedly asked her to come over.

The mother told police she could hear yelling and threats in the background. She said she went to the home.

According to the complaint, Brummitt had been drinking. The mother said she tried to block him so the girlfriend and a boy could leave the home.

In that process, the complaint alleges Brummitt struck his mother on the top of her head.

The complaint states the girlfriend said she was trying to go to bed and put the child to bed. She said Brummitt would not let them and pushed them into a bathroom.

The complaint says the girlfriend tried to lock him out, but he stood in the doorway. She also told police Brummitt tried to hit the boy, but she shielded him.

The complaint alleges Brummitt threatened to kill the girlfriend and the child if they tried to leave. It also alleges he struck the girlfriend on the cheek and on the side and top of her head.

After leaving the home, the girlfriend reported hearing items being thrown inside, according to the complaint.

Aftermath described

The complaint says the girlfriend went to Brummitt’s brother’s home. The brother then went to the woman’s home.

The brother reportedly found Brummitt’s mother on the floor, crying. The complaint says the brother later located Brummitt and restrained him until police arrived.
