Thief River Falls Man Charged After Family Dispute

Thief River Falls (trfnews.i234.me) — A Thief River Falls man faces felony and misdemeanor charges after an alleged dispute with his sister.

Jose Dcosta Sabiniano, 63, has been charged with felony terroristic threats.

He also faces a misdemeanor domestic assault charge.

The case stems from an incident reported September 19.

Sabiniano later went to the Law Enforcement Center and was arrested.

Argument Reportedly Began During Drive

According to the complaint, Sabiniano was traveling with two of his sisters.

An argument began while the group was driving home.

Sabiniano allegedly told one sister to get out of the vehicle.

He then pulled over along Center Street.

The woman planned to get out but wanted to call someone for a ride.

The other sister reportedly said the woman should not be left beside the road.

The woman got back into the vehicle.

The argument then continued as the group drove away.

The complaint says Sabiniano punched the woman twice in her left arm.

The other sister intervened and grabbed his arm.

She also told him to stop, according to the complaint.

Sabiniano allegedly remained angry during the drive.

He then reportedly said he should shoot the woman.

The woman told investigators she believed Sabiniano owned a firearm.

She said she had not personally seen the weapon.

She also described him as someone who could act rashly when angry.

The second sister reportedly witnessed part of the argument.

The alleged victim later told Sabiniano she had a witness.

According to the complaint, Sabiniano said he was unsure whether he made the shooting threat.

He reportedly acknowledged that he may have said it.

He also said the incident happened near Center Street.

The charges are accusations.

Sabiniano is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
