Pennington County (trfnews.i234.me) – A Thief River Falls man is facing serious charges after being caught driving while impaired with a 0.24 BAC, despite having a revoked license from a prior DWI.

According to a criminal complaint, Blaize David Zimmerman, 50, was spotted by Deputy Alex Thibert near Station 59 on June 12. The deputy, familiar with Zimmerman’s revoked status, followed the vehicle to Zimmerman’s residence on Woodland Court. Zimmerman reportedly told the deputy to “arrest me” and admitted to drinking.

The deputy observed signs of intoxication, including the smell of alcohol and bloodshot, watery eyes. Zimmerman failed to complete a field sobriety test and declined a preliminary breath test. A later breath test at the jail showed a BAC of 0.24three times the legal limit.

Deputies also found two 1.75-liter bottles of vodka in his vehicle. Zimmerman, who uses a walker, is now charged with:

  • Second-Degree DWI (Gross Misdemeanor)

  • Driving After Revocation (Misdemeanor)

He also has a pending DWI case from May 2025 in Pennington County.
