Thief River Falls Man Arrested on Felony Charges

Thief River Falls, MN (trfnews.i234.me) – On October 17th, at approximately 6:41 a.m., police officers observed suspicious individuals outside of the Law Enforcement Center. This led to the arrest of Alexander James Aehlert, a 33-year-old resident of Thief River Falls.

Aehlert has been charged with felony third-degree controlled substance crime – possession of meth in a park zone. Additionally, he was arrested on an outstanding Pennington County warrant for misdemeanor disorderly conduct. According to the complaint filed against him, Aehlert and another individual were seen riding bikes next to parked squad cars while shining lights at them.

The officer who made the arrest realized that Aehlert had an outstanding warrant and notified him of his intention to take him into custody. During this process, it was allegedly discovered that Aehlert possessed 0.657 grams of methamphetamine and a meth pipe within 300 feet of a school zone, further supporting the charges against him.
