Thief River Falls (trfnews.i234.me) — Thief River Falls man arrested for drug-related DWI & driving after cancellation!

On February 21 at 2:18 a.m., police pulled over a vehicle in the 900 block of Hwy. 32 S and arrested 36-year-old Terrance Holmgren on multiple charges.

🔹 Arrest Details:

  • Charge: Second-degree DWI – Controlled Substance & Driving After Cancellation – Inimical to Public Safety
  • Police recognized Holmgren and knew his driving privileges were canceled due to past violations.

🔹 Signs of Drug Impairment:

  • Officers noted indicators of impairment, including heat bumps on his tongue, a common sign of methamphetamine use.
  • Holmgren admitted to smoking meth the previous day.

🔹 Failed Sobriety Test & Drug Testing:

  • He failed multiple field sobriety tests.
  • A search warrant was executed for a blood sample, which has been sent to the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension for analysis.

🚨 Repeat Offender:

  • Holmgren has had two prior DWI convictions in the past 10 years.
