Thief River Falls Man Arrested for Chemical Test Refusal and Driving After Revocation

Thief River Falls, MN (trfnews.i234.me) – On June 13, police performed a traffic stop in the 600 block of Greenwood St. E. Michael Gregory Mortenson, 38, of Thief River Falls, has been charged with third-degree refusal to submit to a chemical test and driving after revocation. He was arrested.

According to the complaint, Mortenson allegedly displayed indicators of impairment due to the consumption of a controlled substance. A preliminary breath test indicated a 0.00 BAC. A search warrant was later obtained for a blood or urine sample.

When an officer informed him that refusing to comply would be a crime, Mortenson allegedly swore at the officer. After being asked a second time, Mortenson initially said he would comply and claimed he had nothing to hide. Emergency Medical Services (EMS) were dispatched to the scene to obtain a blood sample. However, while waiting for EMS, Mortenson allegedly refused to provide a blood or urine sample.
