Thief River Falls (trfnews.i234.me)   A Thief River Falls man is facing a third-degree DWI charge after a late-night traffic stop, according to a criminal complaint.

Traffic Stop Near Third Street and Markley Avenue

The stop happened on Feb. 21 at about 10:58 p.m.
Police stopped a vehicle near the intersection of Third Street and Markley Avenue.

Rodney Ordean Peterson, 66, of Thief River Falls, was arrested.
He has been charged with third-degree DWI.

Complaint Details

According to the complaint, Peterson allegedly handed over a debit card.
He reportedly thought it was his driver’s license.

The complaint says police saw signs of impairment.
Peterson allegedly failed field sobriety tests.

He also took a preliminary breath test, according to the complaint.
The result was listed as 0.15 blood alcohol content.

A later DMT test was also reported in the complaint.
That test result was listed as 0.17.

Alcohol Found in Vehicle

Police also reported finding an open container in the vehicle.
A Busch Light beer bottle was found on the passenger floor, the complaint says.
The bottle still contained beer, according to the report.
