Thief River Falls ( trfnews.i234.me ) – Police in Thief River Falls responded to a reported traffic accident on August 9 at 11:12 a.m. along Eighth Street.
According to the report, Alexa Matter of Thief River Falls was driving a 2004 vehicle when the crash occurred. Matter’s vehicle rear-ended a 2018 BMW 320 driven by Taylor Berg, also of Thief River Falls.
Authorities said Berg was stopped on Eighth Street waiting for a train to pass when the collision happened. No injuries were reported in the crash, and both drivers remained at the scene.
Police are continuing to review the circumstances of the accident. No citations were immediately reported following the incident.
Rear-end crashes are among the most common accidents nationwide. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, they often occur when drivers fail to notice slowed or stopped vehicles ahead. Officials urge drivers to remain alert, maintain safe distances, and reduce speed near intersections or rail crossings.
Local officials stress that traffic safety is especially important at railroad crossings, where delays can cause sudden stops and increase the risk of rear-end collisions.
No further details about the Eighth Street accident have been released at this time.
