Thief River Falls (trfnews.i234.me) — A three-vehicle crash near the Pennington Avenue and Greenwood Street roundabout in Thief River Falls led to a citation, but no injuries were reported.
Police received the accident report at 3:14 p.m. on March 10. The crash happened as traffic slowed near the roundabout, according to the report.
Crash Happened Near Busy Roundabout
Authorities said Brooklynn Wilson of Newfolden was driving a 2004 Chevy Impala northbound on Pennington Avenue. Investigators said Wilson’s vehicle struck the rear of a 2013 Honda Accord.
The Honda was driven by Diane Rud of Thief River Falls. The force of the crash pushed Rud’s vehicle forward. It then hit a Ford pickup driven by Thomas Volz of Omaha, Nebraska.
According to the report, Volz had slowed for traffic before the chain-reaction crash happened. Police said there were no known injuries at the scene.
The crash created a brief disruption near the roundabout. That area handles steady local traffic each day. Drivers often slow there as vehicles enter and exit the intersection.
Citation Issued After Investigation
After reviewing the incident, police cited Brooklynn Wilson for vehicle brakes not in working order. No other citations were listed in the report.
The case appears to be a property-damage crash. The report did not list any hospital transports. It also did not describe major damage beyond the three vehicles involved.
Drivers are reminded to keep brakes and other safety parts in good condition. The Minnesota Department of Public Safety offers safety information for drivers across the state.
