Thief River Falls (trfnews.i234.me) — Recent local court cases included DWI sentences, traffic fines, dismissed charges, and probation orders.

The cases came from several law enforcement agencies. Those agencies included city police, the State Patrol, the DNR, and county deputies.

DWI Cases and Court Sentences

Ashlee Dawn Miramontes, 34, of Thief River Falls, was sentenced for second-degree DWI.

She received a $615 fine and a 364-day jail term. The court stayed 334 days for four years.

Miramontes must serve 10 days in jail. Another 20 days may be served through electronic monitoring.

She received credit for two days already served. Work release and Sentence to Serve privileges were also allowed.

The court placed her on supervised probation for four years. She must also complete a chemical assessment.

Ruben Vela Jurado, 36, of Thief River Falls, had two charges dismissed. They were involved in a third-degree DWI and leaving an accident scene.

Cody Lee Wendell, 34, of Thief River Falls, was sentenced for third-degree controlled-substance DWI.

Wendell received a $690 fine and a 364-day jail term. The court stayed 334 days for two years.

He must serve 30 days in jail or on electronic home monitoring. Work release and Sentence to Serve may be allowed.

Wendell will remain on court probation for two years. He must also complete a chemical assessment.

Dismissals and Driving Violations

Michael Dennis Callais, 64, of Cottage Grove, had a third-degree DWI test-refusal charge dismissed.

Kyle Travis Edgar, 42, of Red Lake Falls, was fined $285 for driving after revocation.

Kaybriana Dmira Jordan, 25, of Thief River Falls, had a dark-window-tint charge dismissed.

Jose Cruz Romero, 48, of Thief River Falls, faced driving after cancellation.

The case was continued without adjudication. Romero received a $360 fine and two years of court probation.

State Patrol Traffic Cases

Marquil V. Flynn, 31, of Thief River Falls, was cited for driving 96 mph in a 60 zone.

Flynn received a $385 fine. Talon Davon Sather, 25, of Bemidji, received $135 for driving 74 in a 60 zone.

Max Allan Stauffer, 28, of Mayer, received a $125 fine for driving 65 in a 55 zone.

Jacob James Anderson, 35, of Mandan, North Dakota, received a $110 seat belt fine.

Isaac James Schlagel, 20, of McIntosh, also received a $110 seat belt fine.

Adriah Marilayne Sayers, 24, of Red Lake, received a $285 fine for driving after revocation.

Joshua Ray Moreno, 27, of Thief River Falls, received a $135 child-restraint fine.

DNR and County Cases

Zachary Charles Brateng, 31, of Thief River Falls, received a $135 fine.

The Minnesota DNR case involved operating an unregistered all-terrain vehicle.

Patrick Stephen Porter, 36, of Thief River Falls, received a $125 speeding fine. The reported speed was 35 in a 30 zone.
