Thief River Falls (trfnews.i234.me) — A Thief River Falls woman is facing a felony DWI charge after a traffic stop early New Year’s Day. Court records say officers found signs of impairment and later recorded breath results of 0.17.
Ashlee Dawn Miramontes, 44, of Thief River Falls, has been charged with second-degree DWI. She was arrested, according to the complaint.
Traffic stop details
According to court documents, the stop happened on Jan. 1 at about 2:26 a.m. Police stopped Miramontes near the intersection of Sixth Street and Barzen Avenue.
The complaint says Miramontes was driving down the middle of the roadway at one point. The officer reported indicators of impairment, according to the complaint.
The complaint also says an open Busch Light can was seen in the backseat.

What Miramontes allegedly told police
When asked about drinking, Miramontes allegedly said she had consumed a drink about eight hours earlier. Police continued the investigation at the scene, according to the complaint.
The complaint says Miramontes failed field sobriety tests.
Breath test results
According to the complaint, Miramontes provided a preliminary breath sample. She later provided a second breath sample.
The complaint says both tests showed a result of 0.17 blood alcohol content.
Prior DWI noted
The complaint states Miramontes has a prior DWI conviction. It lists a third-degree DWI conviction from October 2022.
What happens next
Criminal charges are not proof of guilt. A defendant is presumed innocent unless convicted in court.
