Otter Tail County (trfnews.i234.me) – A Fergus Falls man is now facing multiple serious assault charges after allegedly attacking a woman and threatening to kill her with a kitchen knife during a terrifying domestic incident.
According to court documents, Antonio Lopez—with a history of domestic violence—was not supposed to be at the victim’s home, but she found him inside on May 30. After confronting him, the situation escalated quickly. He allegedly grabbed her by the neck, threw her to the ground, punched her, and smashed her phone. At one point, Lopez reportedly held a knife to her throat, threatening, “I swear to God you will die.”
He remained in the house until the next morning. The victim reported the attack on June 3, and police noted visible bruising. Lopez is now charged with:
-
Assault with a Dangerous Weapon
-
Two Counts of Felony Domestic Assault
He has a prior conviction in 2021 and a domestic abuse no contact order violation from 2018.
