Grand Forks County (trfnews.i234.me) — On Thursday evening, a devastating collision occurred at the intersection of 32nd Avenue South and South 31st Street in Grand Forks. An 18-year-old motorcyclist, Jordan Anderson of Grand Forks, was traveling eastbound on 32nd Avenue South when his 1996 Suzuki motorcycle collided with a westbound 2023 Dodge Ram pickup truck driven by 48-year-old Samuel Turner of Mesa, Arizona, who was making a left turn onto South 31st Street.
The impact caused the motorcycle to become lodged beneath the pickup, and both vehicles were quickly engulfed in flames. Anderson sustained severe, incapacitating injuries and was transported by ambulance to Altru Hospital. Turner was uninjured in the crash.
Emergency responders, including the Grand Forks Fire Department, Altru paramedics, and several bystanders, provided immediate assistance at the scene. The Grand Forks Police Department is continuing to investigate the incident and urges anyone with information to come forward.
Did you know? According to the National Fire Protection Association, vehicle fires account for approximately 20% of all reported fires in the United States. Regular vehicle maintenance and awareness can significantly reduce the risk of such incidents.
