Suspect in Officer-Involved Shooting in Grand Forks Survives

GRAND FORKS, ND (trfnews.i234.me) A suspect survived an officer involved shooting by Grand Forks County Deputies just south of the City of Grand Forks Sunday morning.
we have an update on that shooting investigation just south of uh grand forks at about 11 38 a.m on this sunday morning it was an officer-involved shooting the suspect has survived this now in from the grand forks sheriff’s department uh they received a report of a vehicle that had crashed into the ditch in the 800 block of county 81 after driving erratically while in route dispatch notified deputies they received a call from a nearby homeowner who reported a mail breaking into their house two deputies arrived within minutes and were notified by the female homeowner that the suspect was by her vehicle and had a gun deputies observe the male holding a handgun and gave him several commands to drop the weapon which he refused to do the male continued to walk toward deputies with a gun in his hand the male repeatedly refused to comply with deputies command to drop the gun and continued to approach them which resulted in deputies firing their duty sidearms at the subject the subject was struck and fell to the ground upon securing the suspect’s weapon deputies rendered aid to him he was transported to altru and is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries the subject is a 37-year-old male from grand forks the two grand forks deputies are being put on administrative leave administrative leave as standard in any officer-involved shooting with the sheriff’s office this incident remains under active investigation more information will be released as it becomes available regarding the names charges and further incident details the sheriff’s office received assistance from the north dakota bureau of criminal investigation highway patrol altru grand force police and thompson fire department unquote that was from grand forks county sheriff andy schneider i’m Neil Berg reporting for trfnews.i234.me
