FORT WAYNE, Ind. (trfnews.i234.me) – Fort Wayne authorities have apprehended Quantdre Octavious Mersier, 30, of Minot, who was sought in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred last fall in Minot. Mersier’s arrest comes after a Class AA felony murder warrant was issued against him, as stated by the Minot Police Department.

On November 17, in northwest Minot, Mersier was allegedly involved in a shooting incident that left Ansu Kamara, 29, wounded. Unfortunately, Kamara succumbed to his injuries a week later, leading to Mersier becoming the prime suspect in the case.

Following the shooting, Mersier purportedly fled the scene, evading authorities until his recent arrest on Thursday, April 4, in northeast Indiana. The Fort Wayne Police Department Gang and Violent Crimes Unit, assisted by the U.S. Marshal’s Service, successfully apprehended Mersier, bringing an end to his time on the run.

The arrest of Mersier offers a glimmer of hope for justice for the victim and closure for the Minot community affected by the tragic shooting incident.
