Stearns County (TRF News) – Sartell Man Charged with Robbery After Threatening to Kill St. Cloud Kwik Trip Employees
A Sartell man is facing felony simple robbery charges after allegedly stealing $352 from a St. Cloud Kwik Trip and threatening to kill employees during the crime.
According to the statement of probable cause, Kaazim A. Sabir was at the Kwik Trip on Division Street West around 4:00 a.m. on February 16, 2025.
Suspect’s Disturbing Behavior Before the Robbery
- Sabir walked around the store, asking customers for money and a ride.
- He then attempted to buy a vape but didn’t have the money.
- After briefly leaving, he returned and asked the employee what kind of car she drove.
- When the employee questioned why, Sabir told her he was going to steal it.
Threats and Robbery at the Register
Sabir then:
- Put both hands in his pockets and demanded all the money in the register.
- Threatened to kill the employee and others in the store if she didn’t comply.
- The employee initially refused, but out of fear, handed over $352.
Arrest and Police Investigation
- Sabir fled before police arrived, and officers were unable to locate him initially.
- Later, his mother called the police, concerned for his mental health based on recent communications.
- Officers found Sabir at a nearby restaurant and arrested him.
- He was found in possession of the stolen $352 in cash.
Felony Charge and Possible Sentence
Sabir has been charged with:
- Felony Simple Robbery – A charge that carries a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison if convicted.
Sabir is currently awaiting his next court appearance.
