St. Paul (trfnews.i234.me) — Knyaw Taw, 17, has pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in the September 2024 shooting of Davion Brown, 22, outside Maryland Tobacco on Maryland Avenue East.
Taw admitted to shooting Brown multiple times at close range following an argument. Surveillance footage and eyewitness accounts led police to Taw, who was arrested after a foot chase. Officers recovered the murder weapon along his path.
Initially charged as a juvenile, Taw was certified to stand trial as an adult on March 12, 2025, before entering his guilty plea the same day. Prosecutors are seeking a sentence of 283 months—nearly 24 years—in prison.
