SIOUX FALLS, SD (trfnews.i234.me) — Authorities in Sioux Falls have filed murder charges against 51-year-old Eleghba Lipsey following a stabbing incident that left 25-year-old Aidan Quick Bear dead. Prosecutors in Minnehaha County charged Lipsey with first-degree murder, second-degree murder, first-degree manslaughter, and aggravated assault.
The incident occurred shortly before 1 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 23, in a parking lot in the 500 block of South Duluth Avenue. Witnesses reported a disagreement between Lipsey, Quick Bear, and others. During the altercation, Lipsey allegedly used a knife to stab Quick Bear multiple times.
Quick Bear was transported to a local hospital in a private vehicle, where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival. Lipsey was apprehended the same day on a parole hold while law enforcement awaited additional evidence.
The knife believed to have been used is under forensic analysis. Investigators confirmed that Lipsey and Quick Bear were acquaintances. Lipsey’s initial court appearance was scheduled for Wednesday.
This incident marks Sioux Falls’ 14th homicide of the year, setting a record high for the city.
