Grand Forks County (trfnews.i234.me) — Two Grand Forks teens, Mason Wyatt Allery (16) and Walker Michael Poitra (18), are facing a staggering 13 criminal charges each, including five counts of attempted murder, for allegedly firing handguns at a vehicle carrying five people—including children—on January 3.
According to court affidavits, police responded to 1000 N. 42nd St. around 10:51 p.m. after reports of gunshots. The teens allegedly shot at the vehicle twice in rapid succession. Two passengers sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
A teal Taurus 9mm was found where Allery was arrested. Witnesses say Poitra removed bullets from the gun beforehand “to prove it was real.” Separately, a woman at the Knights Inn reported Allery pointing a handgun at her during a disturbing hallway confrontation.
Both cases have been moved from juvenile to adult court as of March 28. Poitra’s next court date is set for May 5 at 9 a.m.
