Hennepin County (trfnews.i234.me) – Authorities have identified 57-year-old Vance Boelter as the suspect in a deadly overnight assault on Minnesota lawmakers, killing two people and wounding two others in a chilling act of political violence.
Boelter, who once held state-appointed positions on the Governor’s Workforce Development Council, is accused of targeting State Senator John Hoffman and State Representative Melissa Hortman in coordinated attacks at their Champlin and Brooklyn Park homes.
Police say Boelter impersonated a law enforcement officer, wearing tactical gear and driving a fake squad SUV. At 2 a.m., two people were shot at Hoffman’s home. By 3:30 a.m., police encountered the suspect at Hortman’s residence, where he allegedly fired at officers before fleeing.
Boelter is listed as Director of Security Patrols for Praetorian Guard Security Services, with alleged experience in conflict zones across Eastern Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. He remains armed and dangerous as the manhunt intensifies.
