Grand Forks, ND (trfnews.i234.me)On Sunday afternoon, a fire broke out at a residence located at 1723 9th Avenue North in Grand Forks, North Dakota. According to Captain Chad Jacobs of the Grand Forks Fire Department, crews responded at approximately 3:41 p.m. to reports of smoke emanating from the home. Shortly thereafter, the situation escalated with visible flames reported.

Upon arrival, firefighters encountered heavy smoke on the main level of the residence. The homeowner informed emergency personnel that all occupants and pets had safely evacuated the premises. Notably, the homeowner had managed to extinguish the flames using a garden hose before the fire department’s arrival.

The fire resulted in damage to the kitchen area, with smoke affecting the remainder of the main floor. Fortunately, the occupants were able to remain in the home, as no displacement was necessary. The cause of the fire has been determined to be cooking-related.
