Grand Forks (trfnews.i234.me) – A terrifying situation unfolded early Monday morning at the Winterland Apartments in Grand Forks, located in the 4200 block of 5th Avenue North, where a juvenile female was shot in the leg following the negligent discharge of a handgun.
According to Sergeant Stefan of the Grand Forks Police Department, the wound sustained by the juvenile is non-life-threatening. Still, the details surrounding who fired the weapon remain under investigation. Authorities responded to the scene quickly and are continuing to gather information on how the accidental shooting occurred.
Residents in the area woke up to a heavy police presence as the scene was secured and medical aid was provided to the victim. The identity of the shooter, along with other circumstances of the incident, is yet to be confirmed.
