Grand Forks (trfnews.i234.me) – A Grand Forks man is facing a multi-felony trial after being accused of brutally assaulting a woman, kicking her down a staircase, and intentionally setting a fire that endangered two children.

James William Laducer Jr., 37, was arrested in October after allegedly punching a woman twice in the face, kicking her in the head and throat, and causing her to fall down a flight of stairs, according to court documents. The terrifying ordeal escalated when Laducer reportedly set fire to the home while the woman and two children were still inside.

In December, Laducer pleaded not guilty to several serious charges, including:

  • Three counts of Class B felony endangering by fire
  • Class C felony preventing arrest
  • Class C felony domestic violence causing serious bodily injury

If convicted, he faces up to 10 years behind bars.

Laducer’s trial is scheduled for March 11, but it could be delayed if a more severe case takes precedence that week.
