Grand Forks (trfnews.i234.me) – The sentencing for 17-year-old Mason Allery, who fired several shots into a car full of juveniles, has been delayed for a second time following a court appearance on Friday, December 19.
Case Details
Allery had previously pleaded guilty to five counts of attempted murder for a January shooting near the Ramada Inn in Grand Forks. The shooting occurred after a fight at a nearby hotel, where Allery, then 16, and 17-year-old Walker Poitra fired a total of 14 shots into a car. Two of the vehicle’s occupants were injured, sustaining gunshot wounds to their forearms, according to court documents.

Sentencing Delay
The prosecution requested that the sentencing be postponed because Poitra’s change of plea hearing was delayed due to inclement weather. They want Poitra to plead guilty before Allery is sentenced. Judge Ted Sandberg agreed, stating that this was a fair approach.
As a result, Allery’s sentencing is now scheduled for January. Stay tuned to TRF News for updates on this developing case.
