Scott County, MN (trfnews.i234.me)—A tragic three-vehicle collision occurred on Monday, April 28, 2025, at approximately 5:10 PM at the intersection of Southbound Highway 13 and East 247th Street in Cedar Lake Township, Scott County.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, a 2012 Ford Escape and a 2021 Ford Explorer were both traveling southbound on Highway 13. As a 2014 Hyundai Sonata, driven by 70-year-old Fedora Isabelle Formuzal of Cedar Lake Township, entered the intersection from eastbound 247th Street, the Escape made contact with the Sonata, causing it to also collide with the Explorer.
Formuzal, who was not wearing a seat belt, sustained fatal injuries and was transported to Saint Francis Regional Medical Center. The drivers of the Escape and Explorer, 48-year-old Darren Wendell Iverson and 18-year-old Jordin Isabelle Gummert, both from Cedar Lake Township, suffered non-life-threatening injuries and declined medical treatment. Both were wearing seat belts, and no alcohol was involved.
The road conditions were reported as wet at the time of the crash. Emergency responders from the Scott County Sheriff’s Office, North Ambulance, and Mdewakanton Ambulance assisted at the scene.
The Minnesota State Patrol continues to investigate the incident.
